DerMarr
Johnson
Libertad Sunchales (LigaA) inked 33-year old American guard DerMarr Johnson (206-95kg-80, college: Cincinnati). He played recently at Osos in Mexico. In 6 games this season he averaged impressive 26.7ppg, 6.3rpg, 1.3apg and 1.2spg. The last season Johnson played at Barako Bull (PBA) in Filipino PBA. In four games last year he had very impressive stats: 20.0ppg, 7.0rpg, 2.0apg, 1.8spg and 1.3bpg.
The previous (2011) summer he played at Bucaros (Copa Federacion) in Colombian Copa Federacion. He helped them to win the league title. A very good season in his career as he was selected to Latinbasket.com Colombian Federation Cup All-Imports Team. Johnson also spent pre-season at Sagesse (Division A) in Lebanese Division A earlier that year.
In 2000 he was drafted by Atlanta Hawks (NBA) in first round (6th overall). The former University of Cincinnati standoutis in his 13th (hopefully lucky) (!!!) season in pro basketball.
Johnson is a very experienced player. He has played also professionally in China (Beijing Ducks and Jiangsu Dragons), Italy, Puerto Rico (Caciques and Ponce), Saudi Arabia (Al Hilal), NBA (Washington Wizards) and D-League (Austin Toros).
Johnsons game is described as: There is not much that DerMarr Johnson could not do on the basketball court. His 6-9 size gives him the presence of a big man, but his array of excellent basketball skills combined with his athletic ability make him a talented swing player. The problem is that he showed to be a little so "soft" in the clutch moments of the game, and his first approach with the intensity of European leagues was disappointing....
