Panteras, Pionares and Fuerza Regia claimed back-to-back victories in the opening games of the LNBP best-of-five eighth-final series.
Panteras handed two defeats to Lechegueros. The first game ended with Panteras claiming a 94:85 victory. Ricardo Melendez (179-PG-83, agency: Paris Global Sports) unloaded 42 points to pace the winners. David Huertas (195-G/F-87, college: Mississippi) added 22 points for the hosts. William Funn (188-G-82, agency: SDJ Sports, college: Portland St.) answered with 18 points for Lechegueros. Panteras also proved strength in the second game of the series. David Huertas was pivotal with 35 points as Panteras clinched a 98:90 victory. William Funn topscored for Lechegueros once again with 22 points.
Fuerza Regia knocked down Barreteros two times in a row at home court. Steve Monreal (180-PG-86, college: CS Monterey) stepped up with 21 points to lead Fuerza Regia to a 75:61 victory in the opener. West contributed 16 points for the hosts. Jerome Habel (208-F-85, college: San Diego St.) replied with 19 points for Barreteros. Mo Charlo (201-F-83, college: Nevada) dropped 17 points in the second game as the home side rolled to an 89:73 success at the end. Sergio Escobar (195-F-81) delivered 14 points for Barreteros.
Pioneros eased to back-to-back victories over Correcaminos (112:94 and 93:87).
In the meantime Huracanes could not capitalize on the starting win 100:88 against Abejas. The visitors pull away winning 87:82 in the second game of the series.

Libertadores add Dashonte Riley to their roster - 2 days ago
LNBP newcomer Libertadores de Queretaro added to their roster 26-year old American center Dashonte Riley (213-109kg-91, college: E.Michigan). He played last season at Salt Lake City Stars in NBA-D-League where in 34 games he recorded 3.3ppg, 3.4rpg and 1.3bpg. Panteras de Aguascalientes (LNBP) agreed terms with 30-year old American power forward Michael Glover (203-98kg-87, college: Iona). The last summer Glover played at Halcones de Ciudad Obregon (CIBACOPA) where in 54 games he had very impressive stats: 21.6ppg, 10.3rpg and 1.4apg.
