Abejas completed the quarterfinal picture. They handed Huracanes the third loss in the series to seal the next round appearance. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 42-30 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. 30 personal fouls committed by Huracanes helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Steffphon Pettigrew (195-89, college: W.Kentucky) fired 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American-Jamaican forward McHugh Mattis (198-84, college: S.Florida) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points, 13 rebounds and 5 blocks. The former international point guard Omar Quintero (183-81, college: S.Nazarene) produced 20 points and American swingman Marcus Morrison (198-84, college: Middle Tenn.St.) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Abejas and four Huracanes players scored in double figures.

27-year old forward Travis Franklin (200-F-88) put on an amazing game in the last round for Los Mochis and receives a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 42. He had the game-high 35 points adding eight rebounds for Los Mochis in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Hermosillo (#1, 28-12) 94-91.
