Fabian
Jaimes
24-year old forward Fabian Jaimes (198-F-92) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked Panteras and receives a Latinbasket.com LNBP Player of the Week award for round 28.
He had a double-double of 24 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat Santos (#8, 11-19) 95-88. Panteras is placed at 2nd position in Mexican LNBP. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Panteras will need more victories to improve their 17-12 record. In the team's last game Jaimes had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Fabian Jaimes averages this season 8.6ppg and 5.5rpg.

Second best performed player last round was Wayne Chism (206-PF-87) of Garzas. He is American forward in his first season at Garzas. In the last game Chism recorded impressive 20 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course he led Garzas to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Correcaminos (#10, 6-23) 106-68. Garzas' 3rd position in the standings has not changed. His team's 17-12 record is not bad at all. Chism is a newcomer at Garzas and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Andy Panko (203-F-77, agency: BeoBasket) of league's leader Fuerza Regia. Panko showcased his all-around game by recording 18 points, five rebounds and five assists in the last round. He was a key player of Fuerza Regia, leading his team to a 79-70 win against the lower-ranked Abejas (#9, 9-20). Many experts and fans count Fuerza Regia as a contender for championship title. Another victory and another confirmation that they may be right. Just look at their record: 28 victories and only one lost game. They are currently at the very top of the standings. Panko has a very solid season. In 25 games in Mexico he scored 17.4ppg. He also has 5.0rpg, FGP: 60.8% and 3PT: 41.3%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Lorrenzo Wade (201-F-85) of Toros - 22 points and 8 rebounds
5. Isaac Gutierrez (204-C-84) of Panteras - 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Rene Rougeau (198-F/G-86) of Toros - 17 points and 6 rebounds
7. Jesus Gonzalez (195-F-86) of Santos - 23 points and 3 rebounds
8. Santiago Garay (196-F-92) of Indios - 15 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists

10. Stephen Soriano (200-F-85) of Garzas - 17 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
