The teams have now bigger motivation at this stage of Regular Season. Every game can be crucial and decide about teams' position at the end of Regular Season. Coincidentally all hosts won their games.

LNBP top team - Fuerza Regia (29-1) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Abejas (9-21) in Monterrey 92-72. Fuerza Regia looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Abejas' players. Nigerian center Jeleel Akindele (216-83, college: Chicago St., agency: BeoBasket) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners and international forward Juan Anderson (198-93, college: Marquette) chipped in 15 points and 7 assists. Fuerza Regia's coach Paco Olmos used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Dominican power forward Manuel Guzman (204-82, college: Bemidji St.) responded with 17 points. Fuerza Regia have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place with 29-1 record. Abejas lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 21 games lost. Fuerza Regia are looking forward to face league's second-placed Panteras in Aguascalientes in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Abejas will play on the road against Toros (#5) in Nuevo Laredo and are hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
The game in Ciudad Juarez was also worth to mention about. 5th ranked Toros (16-13) played at the court of seventh ranked Ciudad (12-16). Ciudad defeated Toros 91-81. American guard Tony Bennett (185-84, college: Bradley) nailed a double-double by scoring 20 points, 6 rebounds and 12 assists for the winning side and Marcus Morrison accounted for 22 points. American forward Lorrenzo Wade (201-85, college: San Diego St., agency: DTMones) came up with 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for Toros in the defeat. Toros' coach Jose Martinez Boglio rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for Ciudad. They moved-up to sixth place. Toros lost their seventh game in a row. Newly promoted team keep the fifth position with 13 games lost. Ciudad will play against bottom-ranked Correcaminos (#10) in Ciudad Victoria in the next round. Toros will play at home against Abejas (#9) and hope to get back on the winning track.
Third ranked Garzas (17-12) crushed at home 10th ranked Correcaminos (6-23) by 23 points 87-64, which is the biggest margin this round on Saturday night. The best player for the winners was Wayne Chism who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Garzas' coach felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Grandy Glaze produced 17 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals for the guests. Garzas moved-up to second place, which they share with Panteras and Soles. Correcaminos lost their fourth game in a row. They stay dead last with 23 lost games. Garzas will meet Soles (#4) in the next round. Correcaminos will play against Ciudad (#6) and hope to secure a win.

In the last game of round 29 Santos lost to Panteras on the opponent's court 77-87.

Fuerza Regia - Abejas 92-72

Third ranked Garzas (17-12) crushed at home 10th ranked Correcaminos (6-23) by 23 points 87-64, which is the biggest margin this round on Saturday night. The game without a history. Garzas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Garzas looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American Wayne Chism (206-87, college: Tennessee) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Tyrone White (201-90, college: CSU Bakersfield) chipped in 20 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Garzas' coach felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Canadian forward Grandy Glaze (204, college: Grand Canyon) produced 17 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals and the former international power forward Hugo Carrillo (205-83) added 4 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists respectively for the guests. Panteras - Santos 87-77

Very expected game in Aguascalientes where 8th ranked Santos (11-19) were defeated by fourth ranked Panteras (17-12) 87-77 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 47-36 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Panteras dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Santos' 34. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international center Isaac Gutierrez (204-84) who scored 25 points and 9 rebounds. The former international forward Fabian Jaimes (198-92) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds. Four Panteras players scored in double figures. American forward B.J. West (211-89, college: Jackson St.) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international forward Jesus Gonzalez (195-86) added 21 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Panteras. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Garzas and Soles. Santos at the other side keep the eighth position with 19 games lost. Panteras will meet league's leader Fuerza Regia in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Santos will play against Barreteros (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Fuerza Regia. 27-year old guard Isaac Sosa Carrion (190-G-90) put on an amazing game in the last round for Panteras and receives a Latinbasket.com LNBP Player of the Week award for round 17. He had the game-high 32 points adding three rebounds and six assists for Panteras in his team's victory, helping them to beat Libertadores (#11, 4-11) 102-87.
