Carl Jones
American Carl Jones (180-PG-91, agency: DTMones) had a very impressive game in the last round for Barreteros and that's him to receive a Latinbasket.com LNBP Player of the Week award for round 30.
The 25-year old playmaker had the game-high 32 points adding four rebounds and seven assists for Barreteros as his team lost the game against Santos (#7, 12-19) 90-99. Barreteros moved-up to the 8th position in Mexican LNBP. Barreteros is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. But it was their 17th lost game this season out of 28 games. In the team's last game Jones had a remarkable 54.5% from 2-point range. He turned to be Barreteros' top player in his first season with the team. Saint Joseph's University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Jones is league's best scorer averaging so far 18.7ppg. Jones is in league's top in and averages solid 53.3% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 27-year old American forward B.J. West (211-F-89) of Santos. West impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 31 points and 17 rebounds. Of course Santos cruised to a 99-90 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked Barreteros (#8, 11-17). This victory allowed Santos to move up to 7th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 12-19 record. West is a newcomer at Santos and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.5ppg (#8). He also registered 11.6 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was American Justin Keenan (202-F/C-88) of second-ranked Soles. Keenan scored 25 points and grabbed seven rebounds. He was a key player of Soles, leading his team to an 80-72 win against #4 ranked Garzas in a game of the week. Soles needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 18 victories and 12 lost games. Keenan has a great season in Mexico. After 30 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 24.1ppg (3rd best) and rebounds with 8.8rpg (4th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Manuel Guzman (204-F/C-82) of Abejas - 30 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists
5. Lorrenzo Wade (201-F-85) of Toros - 31 points and 4 rebounds
6. Jesus Gonzalez (195-F-86) of Santos - 28 points and 6 rebounds
7. Anthony Perez (206-F-93) of Soles - 15 points, 3 rebounds and 8 assists
8. Hugo Carrillo (205-C/F-83) of Correcaminos - 14 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists
9. Jorge Camacho (203-F-89) of Indios - 20 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Benjamin Puckett (205-C-83) of Barreteros - 18 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
