The games at this stage are more interesting as they can be crucial for the final standings in Regular Season. Despite we already know who is stronger and who is weaker, there may be still last minute susprises and upsets.

The most exciting game of round 31 in the LNBP took place in San Luis Potosi. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 7th ranked Santos (12-20) to eighth ranked Barreteros (12-17) 81-78 in the game for the seventh place. The guests trailed by 11 points after three quarters before their 23-9 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Barreteros had a 32-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Paul Marigney (192-82, college: St.Mary's, CA) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds. Center Benjamin Puckett (205-83, college: Clayton St.) contributed with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Forward B.J. West (211-89, college: Jackson St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists for Santos. Santos' coach Andres Contreras rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Barreteros moved-up to seventh place. Santos at the other side dropped to the eighth position with 20 games lost. Barreteros are looking forward to face higher ranked Ciudad (#6) in Ciudad Juarez in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Santos will play on the road against Garzas in Plata Hidalgo and are hoping to win this game.
An interesting game for Soles (19-12) which hosted in Mexicali 4th placed Garzas (17-14). Second ranked Soles managed to get a 6-point victory 88-82. It was a great evening for American power forward Justin Keenan (202-88, college: Ferris St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points and 8 rebounds. Anthony Perez helped adding 25 points and 8 assists. At the losing side naturalized American guard Martin Samarco (190-85, college: Bowling Green) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 assists. Soles maintains second place with 19-12 record having nine points less than leader Fuerza Regia. Newly promoted Garzas dropped to the fifth position with 14 games lost. Soles will play against Ciudad (#6) in Ciudad Juarez in the next round. Garzas will play at home against Santos and hope to get back on the winning track.

In the last game of round 31 Indios beat Correcaminos on the road 92-88.
The most impressive performance of 31th round was 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists by McHugh Mattis of Abejas.

Toros - Abejas 84-74

The game between fourth ranked Toros (18-13) and 9th ranked Abejas (9-23) in Nuevo Laredo on Sunday ended with biggest points difference. Toros beat guests from Guanajuato 84-74. Toros looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a quality performance for American swingman Rene Rougeau (198-86, college: UNLV) who led the winners and scored 20 points. The former international center Lorenzo Mata (205-86, agency: Pro Sports) accounted for 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Four Toros players scored in double figures. Dominican power forward Manuel Guzman (204-82, college: Bemidji St.) came up with 26 points and 8 rebounds and American-Jamaican forward McHugh Mattis (198-84, college: S.Florida) added 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) respectively for Abejas in the defeat. Toros moved-up to third place. Abejas lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 23 games lost. Toros will meet bottom-ranked Correcaminos (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Abejas will play against Panteras in Aguascalientes and hope to secure a win.

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Ciudad (14-16) beat bottom-ranked Correcaminos (6-25) in Ciudad Victoria 92-88 on Sunday. Ciudad looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for forward Jorge Camacho (203-89, college: E.Kentucky) who led the winners and scored 34 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. The former international power forward Arim Solares (202-83) accounted for 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. American guard Dekabriean Eldridge (191, college: N.Mexico JC) came up with 33 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and Canadian forward Grandy Glaze (204, college: Grand Canyon) added 18 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Correcaminos in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ciudad have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain sixth place with 14-16 record. Correcaminos lost sixth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 25 lost games. Ciudad will meet Barreteros (#7) in the next round. Correcaminos will play against Toros and hope to secure a win.

LNBP newcomer Capitanes Ciudad de Mexico strengthened their roster with addition of 32-year old Venezuelan guard Jesus Centeno (190-85).
