Justin
Keenan
American Justin Keenan (202-F/C-88) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's second-best Soles and that's him to receive a Latinbasket.com LNBP Player of the Week award for round 33.
The 28-year old power forward had a double-double of 43 points and thirteen rebounds, while his team edged out Indios (#7, 14-19) 93-90. Soles maintains the 2nd position in Mexican LNBP. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Soles will need more victories to improve their 21-12 record. In the team's last game Keenan had a remarkable 73.3% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He turned to be Soles' top player in his first season with the team. Ferris State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Keenan is in league's top in points (3rd best: 24.6ppg), rebounds (4th best: 8.8rpg) and averages solid 64.1% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 34-year old Dominican Rep. power forward Manuel Guzman (204-F/C-82) of Abejas. Guzman impressed basketball fans with 36 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. It was enough for Abejas to edge the higher-ranked Panteras (#5, 18-13) by 3 points 96-93. Abejas' 9th position in the standings has not changed. 24 lost games are too many comparing to just ten victories Abejas managed to get this year. Guzman is a newcomer at Abejas and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.6ppg (#4). He also registered 6.8 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was American Greg Smith (198-F-91) of Santos (#8). Smith scored 25 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Despite Smith's great performance Santos lost 83-100 to the higher-ranked Garzas (#4, 19-14). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Santos not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 22 games, recording just twelve victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Smith could try to bring Santos' a little bit higher in the standings. Smith has a very solid season. In 16 games in Mexico he scored 17.4ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Arim Solares (202-F/C-83) of Indios - 21 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Grandy Glaze (204-F) of Correcaminos - 18 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Fabian Jaimes (198-F-92) of Panteras - 21 points and 11 rebounds
7. Jeleel Akindele (216-C-83) of Fuerza Regia - 18 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Stephen Soriano (200-F-85) of Garzas - 23 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Tyrone White (201-F-90) of Garzas - 17 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists
10. Brandon Provost (190-G-90) of Barreteros - 20 points, 2 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
