Toros de Nuevo Laredo (LNBP) agreed terms with 29-year old Puerto Rican international swingman Alex Franklin (198-103kg-88, college: Siena). He is a dual citizen owning also American passport. Franklin played last summer at Vaqueros de Bayamon in Puerto Rican BSN league. In 35 games he had 10.4ppg, 5.2rpg, 2.1apg and 1.2spg. He helped them to win the regular season and make it to the final. The last season Franklin played at Atletico Aguada in Uruguayan LUB where in only one game he recorded very impressive stats: 16 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 block. The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he was voted Eurobasket.com All-Spanish LEB Gold Honorable Mention back in 2011. Franklin also represented Puerto Rico at the Central American and Caribbean Games in Veracruz (Mexico) three years ago. His team won Bronze and his stats at that event were 4 games: 4.3ppg, 2.5rpg, 1.5spg. Franklin is quite experienced player. His career allowed him to visit three different continents, while he played in nine different countries. Franklin tasted the life as pro basketball player in Europe, Latin America and of course North America. He has played previously professionally also in Dominican Rep., France, Germany (Deutsche Bank Skyliners), Israel (Maccabi Raanana), Poland (AZS Koszalin), Spain (Magia_Huesca), Dominican Republic (Titanes Licey) and Mexico (Soles). Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Mexicans who are currently playing abroad. This week's number one is an international power forward Gustavo Ayon (207-85). He was the major contributor in a Real Madrid's victory against the sixth-ranked Crvena Zvezda in the Euroleague in Friday night's game.

#1. This week's number one is an international power forward Gustavo Ayon (207-85, college: San Jose St., currently plays in Euroleague). He was the major contributor in a Real Madrid's victory against the sixth-ranked Crvena Zvezda (15-11) crushing them 98-68 in the Euroleague in Friday night's game.
Ayon recorded 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in a mere 18 minutes on the court.
Real Madrid (19-7) is placed second in the Euroleague.
There are only four games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. So now every game will be critical.
This year Ayon averages: 9.7ppg, 4.9rpg, 2.4apg, 2FGP: 71.6%(116-162) and FT: 46.7% in 26 games he played so far.
He is currently a member of the Mexican senior national team.
#2. Second place goes to an international guard Francisco Cruz (190-89, college: Wyoming, currently plays in Spain). Cruz could not help Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (10-13) to beat Valencia Basket (5-17).
He scored 9 points.
But Baloncesto Fuenlabrada was defeated 101-86 on the road by the lower-ranked Valencia Basket (#13).
It's Cruz's first season with the team.
Cruz's overall stats this year are: 9.1ppg, 1.5rpg, 2.0apg, 2FGP: 54.4%, 3FGP: 30.2% and FT: 82.6%.

#3. The Mexican player who performed third best last week abroad was an international guard Jorge Gutierrez (190-88, college: California, currently plays in Turkey). He was not able to help one of league's weakest teams Trabzonspor (7-14) in their last game. Despite Gutierrez's good performance Trabzonspor was badly defeated 96-78 in Istanbul by the higher-ranked (#11) BBSK.
He scored 10 points, had 6 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 33 minutes.
It was Trabzonspor's third consecutive loss in a row.
This year Gutierrez's overall stats are: 9.5ppg, 4.9rpg, 4.3apg, 1.3spg, 2FGP: 54.3% and FT: 63.6% in 11 games.
Ex-Pioneros de Quintana Roo-Cancun player is also a member of the Mexican senior national team.
#4. Forward Mauricio Cheda (198-90, college: UTEP, currently plays in Spain) managed to help Xuven Cambados in a victory against the tenth-ranked Alcazar (12-12) 94-77 in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division) last Saturday.
He scored only 4 points in 13 minutes.
Xuven Cambados (17-7) is placed third in the LEB Silver.
It was his team's seventh consecutive victory in a row.
This year Cheda's total stats are: 3.9ppg and 1.2rpg in 14 games.
He used to play for the Mexican university national team
back in 2013.
#5. Former U18 international forward Ivan Venegas (203-97, currently plays college basketball in the States) contributed to UTEP's victory against the Rice University (11-7) 86-76 in the NCAA on Thursday night.
Venegas scored only 2 points.
The The Univ.of Texas at El Paso has a solid 12-6 conference record this season.
The Regular Season already ended in the NCAA.
This year Venegas averages just 0.6ppg.
He used to play for the Mexican U18 national team

Soles stunned visiting Garzas to reach the Finals. The game without a history. Soles led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Garzas' 30. They outrebounded Garzas 44-30 including a 38-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Soles players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Garzas' players. It was a good game for American power forward Justin Keenan (202-88, college: Ferris St.) who led his team to a victory with 29 points and 5 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field). Point guard Alexander Perez Kaufmann (191-93, agency: Pro Sports) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 9 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners. Four Soles players scored in double figures. Naturalized American guard Martin Samarco (190-85, college: Bowling Green) replied with 16 points and 6 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and the former international forward Stephen Soriano (200-85, college: Colorado Mesa) added 10 points and 4 assists in the effort for Garzas.
