Jason
Robinson
Soles de Mexicali (LNBP) signed experienced 37-year old American small forward Jason Robinson (198-102kg-80, college: Pikeville). He played last season at Flamengo in Brazilian NBB league. In 40 games he had 7.0ppg, 2.5rpg and 1.3apg. Robinson helped them to win the league title.
The previous (14-15) season he played at Tecnyconta Zaragoza in Spanish Liga Endesa where in 33 games he recorded 9.8ppg, 3.3rpg and 1.2apg. Robinson also played 15 games in Eurocup where he averaged 8.5ppg, 3.5rpg, 1.7apg and 1.0spg.
He is quite experienced player. Robinson has played on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in Argentina (GECR Indalo), Portugal (Sangalhos and Belenenses), Spain (Valencia Basket, Blancos de Rueda, Melilla_Baloncesto, Gandia and Gipuzkoa) and South Korea (KCC Egis).
It's very possible he may end his playing career at Soles.
Robinson attended Pikeville College until 2003 and it will be his 14th (!!!) season as a professional player.
He could be described: Physical & Mental: Has a very good team attitude. Works and communicates well with teammates. Good condition physically. Smart.
Ball Skills: Needs improvement to create his own shot.
Offense: Could be more aggressive. Shooting stroke and range could improve.
Rebounding: Needs to be more aggressive on the blocks.
Defense: Very good foot work. Vision could be better.
Game Knowledge: Understands the game.
Strengths: Has uncanny ability to get his teammates open.
Opportunities for Improvement: Needs to be more aggressive. Concentrate on increasing foot speed.
Overall Comments: Good condition physically. Runs the floor well. Integrates well with teammates. Very coachable. Good versatility at the next level, with size and athleticism
