Toros - Fuerza Regia 72-84

Fuerza Regia surged ahead in the semifinal series versus Toros. The game was mostly controlled by Fuerza Regia. Toros was better in third quarter 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 23-of-28 charity shots (82.1 percent) during the game. Fuerza Regia outrebounded Toros 37-19 including a 30-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Toros were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for international forward Juan Anderson (198-93, college: Marquette) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 6 rebounds. Puerto Rican point guard Carlos Rivera (187-83, college: Hofstra) contributed with 14 points for the winners. Five Fuerza Regia players scored in double figures. American guard Roberto Nelson (190-91, college: Oregon St.) answered with 15 points and the other American import swingman Rene Rougeau (198-86, college: UNLV) added 15 points and 5 steals in the effort for Toros. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.

Garzas - Soles 96-83

Garzas used home court advantage to open win count in the series versus Soles. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 96-83. Garzas shot 63.8 percent from the field. Garzas had a 31-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. Garzas looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international swingman Romel Beck (201-82, college: UNLV, agency: Interperformances) who scored 20 points. American forward Tyrone White (201-90, college: CSU Bakersfield) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Four Garzas players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized American guard Luke Martinez (193-90, college: Wyoming, agency: Pro Sports) who recorded 28 points and American power forward Justin Keenan (202-88, college: Ferris St.) added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

Windsor Express (NBL Canada) signed 29-year old American forward Devin White (203-98kg-88, college: SUNO). He played this summer at Nauticos of Mazatlan in Mexican CIBACOPA. In 15 games he had very impressive stats: 18.5ppg, 8.7rpg, 3.0apg and 1.4spg. Taj Gray (ex Mazatlan) agreed terms with Windsor Express - 4 days ago
Windsor Express (NBL Canada) strengthened their roster with addition of 33-year old American power forward Taj Gray (204-107kg-84, college: Oklahoma). He played in the summer at Nauticos of Mazatlan in Mexican CIBACOPA, but left the team in April. In 7 games he recorded very impressive stats: 18.4ppg, 2.3rpg and 1.0apg.
