Gustavo Ayon
#1. This week's number one is an international power forward Gustavo Ayon (207-85, college: San Jose St., currently plays in Euroleague). He could not help Real Madrid (18-6) in their last game. Despite Ayon's good performance Real Madrid was edged 87-84 on the road by the much lower-ranked (#14) Galatasaray. He scored 10 points in 19 minutes on the court. It was Real Madrid's first loss after nine consecutive victories. This year Ayon averages: 9.5ppg, 4.9rpg, 2.4apg, 1.1spg, 2FGP: 69.8%(104-149) and FT: 46.7% in 24 games he played so far. He is currently a member of the Mexican senior national team.

Edgar Garibay

Garibay led Guaiqueries to a 1-point victory against the fourth-ranked Guaros (0-2) 90-89 in the Venezuelan LPB last Wednesday. He scored 14 points, had 6 rebounds, passed 3 assists and added 2 blocks; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Garibay's third season in pro basketball. Guaiqueries de Margarita (2-2) is placed third in Eastern Conference. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Garibay's overall stats this year are: 9.7ppg, 5.7rpg, 1.7apg, 2FGP: 47.8% and FT: 58.3%. He is a naturalized American. Garibay is in the roster of the Mexican senior national team. He used to play for Lechugueros de Leon in Mexican league.
