Glover
29-year old forward Michael Glover (203-F-87) put on an amazing game in the last round for second-ranked Obregon and receives a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 2.
He had a double-double of 21 points and 17 rebounds, while his team outclassed, the league's bottom-ranked team Los Mochis (#9, 0-2) with 27-point margin 84-57. Obregon maintains the 2nd position in Mexican league. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Obregon won both games without losing any. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Glover just recently signed at Obregon and just after two games he already turned to be a very valuable addition to the team. Iona College graduate has very impressive stats this year. Glover is in league's top in points (7th best: 21.0ppg) and averages solid 56.5% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Dwayne Mitchell (196-G/F-82) of Navolato. He is American swingman in his first season at Navolato. In the last game Mitchell recorded impressive double-double of 30 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Navolato lost that game 81-90 to Guasave (1-1). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Mitchell is one of the most experienced players at Navolato and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 29.5ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 6.5rpg and 6.5apg.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Myck Kabongo (191-G-92) of Hermosillo (#8). Kabongo scored 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Despite Kabongo's great performance Hermosillo lost 69-84 to Guaymas (1-1). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Hermosillo needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 1 victory and 1 lost game. Kabongo has a very solid season. In 2 games in Mexico he scored 19.5ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Benjamin Puckett (205-C-83) of Culiacan - 23 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Glen Rice Jr. (198-G/F-91) of Obregon - 26 points and 7 rebounds
6. Taj Gray (204-F/C-84) of Mazatlan - 31 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Mychal Ammons (198-F-92) of Navolato - 22 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Paul Marigney (192-G-82) of Guaymas - 23 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Grandy Glaze (204-F) of Culiacan - 25 points and 5 rebounds
10. Marcus Morrison (198-G/F-84) of Tijuana - 21 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
