Dwayne
Mitchell
American Swingman Dwayne Mitchell (196-G/F-82) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Navolato, receiving a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 3.
The 34-year old player was the main contributor (29 points, three rebounds and nine assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Guasave (1-1) 91-82. Navolato is placed at 6th position in Mexican CIBACOPA. Navolato is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 1-1 record. In the team's last game Mitchell had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 8 attempts. He just recently signed at Navolato and just after two games he already turned to be a very valuable addition to the team. Former University Louisiana at Lafayette star has very solid stats this year. Mitchell is league's best scorer averaging so far 29.5ppg and is league's best passer with 6.5apg. Mitchell is in league's top in and averages impressive 80.0% FGP and 41.2% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was 23-year old American Cameron Forte (201-F-93) of Los Mochis. Forte had a very good evening with a double-double of 23 points and 13 rebounds. Bad luck as Los Mochis lost that game 84-95 to Obregon (2-0). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Forte is one of the most experienced players at Los Mochis and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Los Mochis' star - American forward Lance Perique (203-F-83). Perique scored 27 points. Despite Perique's great performance Los Mochis lost 84-95 to Obregon (#2, 2-0). But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates. Los Mochis can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 2 games. Too bad for Perique he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Perique has a very solid season. In 2 games in Mexico he scored 20.0ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Tristan Spurlock (203-F-91) of Hermosillo - 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists
5. Michael Glover (203-F-87) of Obregon - 21 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Joseph Hutchingson (196-G/F-87) of Obregon - 17 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Cliff Tucker (198-F/G-89) of Mazatlan - 18 points, 3 rebounds and 6 assists
8. Emmanuel Little (196-F-85) of Hermosillo - 11 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Ian Young (191-PG-81) of Culiacan - 24 points and 5 assists
10. Travis Franklin (200-F-88) of Guasave - 20 points

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

LNBP Round 40: Capitanes defeat leader Mineros - 13 hours ago

Best players of Mexican LNBP round 39 - 2 days ago
GERARD DEVAUGHN American Gerard DeVaughn (206-F/C-88) had a great game in the last round for Libertadores and that's him to receive a Interperformances LNBP Player of the Week award for round 39. The 29-year old power forward had the game-high 29 points adding seven rebounds for Libertadores in his team's victory, helping them to beat Panteras (#11, 7-26) 97-88.
