Travis
Franklin
28-year old forward Travis Franklin (200-F-88, agency: Interperformances) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's best team Guasave and receives a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 5.
He had the game-high 35 points adding six rebounds and eight assists for Guasave in his team's victory, helping them to beat Los Mochis (#10, 1-4) 96-90. It allowed Guasave to take over top position in the Mexican league. Guasave have a solid 4-1 record. In the team's last game Franklin had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Guasave, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Colorado State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Franklin is league's best scorer averaging so far 29.4ppg. Franklin is in league's top in and averages solid 68.3% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Mychal Ammons (198-F-92) of Navolato. He is American forward in his first season at Navolato. In the last game Ammons recorded impressive 33 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course Navolato cruised to a 89-80 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Culiacan (#9, 1-4). Despite this victory Navolato slide down in the standings to 5th position. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 3-2 record is not bad and everything may still change. Ammons is one of the most experienced players at Navolato and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.8ppg (#6). He also registered 10.0 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Michael Glover (203-F-87) of Obregon (#4). Glover scored 24 points and grabbed twenty one rebounds (!!!). Despite Glover's great performance Obregon lost 91-105 to #2 ranked Hermosillo. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Obregon needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 3 victories and 2 lost games. Glover has a great season in Mexico. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 24.0ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 12.0rpg (#1 in league).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Benjamin Puckett (205-C-83) of Culiacan - 28 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists
5. Dominique Keller (205-F/C-88) of Durango - 31 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Cameron Forte (201-F-93) of Los Mochis - 26 points and 6 rebounds
7. A'Darius Pegues (208-F-89) of Los Mochis - 25 points and 10 rebounds
8. Sammy Yeager (193-F-89) of Guasave - 19 points, 4 rebounds and 8 assists
9. Tamir Jackson (190-G-90) of Navolato - 28 points and 6 assists
10. Shane Heyward (200-C-92) of Guaymas - 15 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
