Mychal
Ammons
American Mychal Ammons (198-F-92) put on an amazing game in the last round for Navolato and that's him to receive a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 24-year old forward had a double-double of 31 points and eleven rebounds, while his team beat Obregon (#6, 3-3) 85-77. Navolato is placed at 4th position in Mexican CIBACOPA. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Navolato will need more victories to improve their 4-2 record. In the team's last game Ammons had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Navolato, being already a very valuable addition to the team. University of South Alabama graduate has very impressive stats this year. Ammons is in league's top in points (3rd best: 25.0ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 10.2rpg) and averages solid 2.5bpg,66.7% FGP and 53.3% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 25-year old American forward Tristan Spurlock (203-F-91) of Hermosillo. Spurlock impressed basketball fans with 25 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course Hermosillo cruised to a 92-82 relatively comfortable win over slightly higher-ranked Tijuana (#2, 5-2). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Hermosillo consolidated its place in top 3 of the standings. His team's 4-2 record is not bad at all. Spurlock is one of the most experienced players at Hermosillo and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was American Paul Marigney (192-G-82) of Guaymas (#5). Marigney showcased his all-around game by recording 20 points, seven rebounds and five assists in the last round. He was a key player of Guaymas, leading his team to a 101-86 easy win against the lower-ranked Los Mochis (#10, 1-5). Guaymas needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 3 lost games. Marigney has a very solid season. In 6 games in Mexico he scored 16.2ppg. He also has 6.8rpg and FGP: 60.0%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Travis Franklin (200-F-88) of Guasave - 33 points and 3 rebounds
5. Dwayne Mitchell (196-G/F-82) of Navolato - 26 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Cliff Tucker (198-F/G-89) of Mazatlan - 23 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Cameron Forte (201-F-93) of Los Mochis - 22 points and 8 rebounds
8. Grandy Glaze (204-F) of Culiacan - 16 points and 11 rebounds
9. Glen Rice Jr. (198-G/F-91) of Obregon - 24 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Jorge Alfredo Casillas (196-G/F-90) of Mazatlan - 19 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
