Andy Panko
Defending champion Guaros de Lara (LPB) landed experienced 40-year old American forward Andy Panko (203-101kg-77, college: Lebanon Valley, agency: BeoBasket).
He started the season at Fuerza Regia in Mexican LNBP. In 42 games he averaged impressive 15.7ppg, 4.9rpg and 2.9apg this season. He just became LNBP champion of the 2016-2017 season, the first title ever for Fuerza Regia.
The last summer Panko played at Vaqueros in Puerto Rican BSN where in 12 games he had 13.1ppg, 5.8rpg and 2.9apg. He helped them to win the regular season and make it to the final.
In 1999 Panko was drafted by Pennsylvania Valley Dawgs (USBL) in seventh round (86th overall).
The former Lebanon Valley College (NCAA Div.III) staris in his 18th (!!!) season in pro basketball.
Among other achievements he won Spanish LEB Gold Play-Off championship title in 2008. Panko received also Eurobasket.com All-Spanish ACB Player of the Year award back in 2012.
He is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball Panko experienced life in five different countries playing on three different continents. He is familiar with European, Latin American and of course North American leagues. Panko has played previously in France (Sluc Nancy), Greece (Panathinaikos and PAOK Thessaloniki), Italy, Spain (Unicaja Malaga, Girona FC, Sevilla, RETAbet Bilbao Basket and Baloncesto Fuenlabrada) and Puerto Rico (Carolina).

Let's have closer look into Panko's outlook: Very offensively gifted player. He's got both good size and quickness. He's got more strength. He also has ballhandling and passing skills. If he improves his defense and rebounding consistency, he should be an NBA player. Simple -- the immensely talented forward and go-to player on offense.

Interview with Melquan Bolding - 1 day ago
Melquan Bolding (190-G-88, college: Fair Dickinson) former player of Pioneros de Los Mochis (Mexico-CIBACOPA) in an old interview: Why you decided to be a pro player. The reason I decided to become a pro was, I've played all my life and all the hard work and dedication. It's a blessing to be able to get paid to play now. There are many players without a job fighting for the same spots, how hard is to wait for your ideal offer and not take the first that comes up considering that the ne...   [read more]

American Eugene Phelps (198-F-90) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's leader Soles and that's him to receive a Latinbasket.com LNBP Player of the Week award for round 11. The 27-year old forward had the game-high 28 points adding seven rebounds and two assists for Soles in his team's victory, helping them to crush Panteras (#10, 3-6) with 16-point margin 95-79.
