Hector
Hernandez
Vaqueros de Bayamon (BSN) tabbed 32-year old Mexican international power forward Hector Hernandez (205-102kg-85, college: Fresno State, agency: BeoBasket). He played recently at Fuerza Regia in Mexican LNBP. In 46 games he averaged 11.9ppg, 5.3rpg and 2.2apg this season. He can count that year as a very successful as was selected to Mexican LNBP All-Star Game. Hernandez ended the last season at Bucaneros in Venezuelan LPB where in three games he had 10.0ppg and 5.7rpg. But the most of that year he spent at Pioneros (also in LNBP). In 50 games he recorded 13.4ppg, 7.5rpg and 2.7apg. Hernandez helped them to win the LNBP title (twice) despite they ended the regular season at the second place (twice). A very impressive season as he was awarded Latinbasket.com All-Mexican LNBP Domestic Player of the Year, Center of the Year and selected to 1st Team.
He has been also a member of Mexican international program for some years. Hernandez has regularly played for Mexican senior team since 2003 and previously for U18 National Team back in 2002.
He represented Mexico at the Centrobasket in Panama City (Panama) last year. Hernandez's team won Silver and his stats at that event were 6 games: Score-2 (16.5ppg), 6.5rpg, 1.7apg, 1.2spg, FGP: 46.7%, 3PT: 36.1%, FT: 78.3%.
Hernandez is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in four different countries playing on three different continents. He is familiar with European, Latin American and of course North American leagues. Hernandez has played previously professionally in Israel (Maccabi Haifa), Puerto Rico (Atleticos), Mexico (Halcones UV Xalapa, Frayles de Guasave, Soles and Ostioneros de Guaymas) and ABA (Washington R.).
He attended Fresno State until 2008 and it is his ninth season in pro basketball.
Let's have closer look into Hernandez's outlook: A very promising frontcourt player, who has yet a lot of playing experience; has a good inside game, rebounds well, but shoots so well from outside, that is future could be at SF. Hasthe size of nba.
Is very skilled for a player his height ... has shooting range beyond the three-point arc ... very driven player who is one of the team's hardest workers. Hector has the ability to face the basket and take biger players of the dribble
rebaunds the ball well
