Glen Rice
Jr.
American Glen Rice Jr. (198-G/F-91) had an amazing evening in the last round for Obregon and that's him to receive a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 11.
The 25-year old swingman had the game-high 29 points adding eight rebounds and six assists for Obregon in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Tijuana (#2, 7-4) 99-95. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Obregon is placed at 4th position in Mexican CIBACOPA. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Obregon will need more victories to improve their 6-4 record. In the team's last game Rice Jr. had a remarkable 58.3% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Obregon, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Glen Rice Jr. averages this season 20.1ppg and 6.2rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 24-year old American forward Mychal Ammons (198-F-92) of Navolato. Ammons impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 29 points and 18 rebounds. Of course he led Navolato to another comfortable win 104-86 over slightly lower-ranked Mazatlan (#7, 5-6) being unquestionably team leader. Navolato's 5th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 6-4 record is not bad and everything may still change. Ammons is one of the most experienced players at Navolato and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 26.4ppg (#3). He also registered 13.0 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was American Marcus Morrison (198-G/F-84) of second-ranked Tijuana. Morrison showcased his all-around game by recording 24 points, ten rebounds and eight assists in the last round. He was a key player of Tijuana, leading his team to a 92-88 win against #4 ranked Obregon in a game of the week. Tijuana needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 7 victories and 4 lost games. Morrison has a great season in Mexico. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 8.2rpg (8th best) and assists with 5.8apg (best passer).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Rashad Woods (197-G/F-86) of Guaymas - 22 points and 9 rebounds
5. Leon Gibson (206-C-91) of Tijuana - 23 points and 8 rebounds
6. Cliff Tucker (198-F/G-89) of Mazatlan - 22 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Martin Samarco (190-G-85) of Durango - 28 points and 8 assists
8. Tristan Spurlock (203-F-91) of Hermosillo - 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists
9. Paul Jones (198-F-89) of Durango - 16 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Dwayne Mitchell (196-G/F-82) of Navolato - 13 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
