Mychal
Ammons
24-year old forward Mychal Ammons (198-F-92) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Navolato and receives a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 28.
He had a double-double of 22 points and 13 rebounds, while his team crushed Guaymas (#4, 14-14) with 20-point margin 96-76. Navolato is placed at 8th position in Mexican league. Navolato is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 11-17 record. In the team's last game Ammons had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Navolato, being already a very valuable addition to the team. University of South Alabama graduate has very impressive stats this year. Ammons is in league's top in rebounds (3rd best: 10.9rpg) and averages solid 1.4bpg and 63.5% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Martin Samarco (190-G-85) of Durango. He is naturalized American guard in his first season at Durango. In the last game Samarco recorded impressive 30 points and 7 rebounds. Of course he led Durango to another comfortable win 111-97 over the higher-ranked Obregon (#2, 19-9) being unquestionably team leader. Despite this victory they still are dead at the bottom. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 9-18 record. Samarco is one of the most experienced players at Durango and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.2ppg (#5).

Third place about best performers goes to forward Travis Franklin (200-F-88, agency: Interperformances) of Guasave (#5). Franklin scored 29 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Despite Franklin's great performance Guasave lost 85-94 to the higher-ranked Hermosillo (#1, 21-6). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Guasave needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 14 victories and 14 lost games. Franklin has a great season in Mexico. After 27 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 26.5ppg (best scorer).

Other top performing players last week:
4. J Almada) of Los Mochis - 32 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Du'Vaughn Maxwell (201-F-91) of Culiacan - 24 points and 5 rebounds
6. Michael Glover (203-F-87) of Obregon - 23 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Myke Henry (198-F-92) of Hermosillo - 27 points and 8 rebounds
8. Benjamin Puckett (205-C-83) of Culiacan - 17 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists
9. Dwayne Mitchell (196-G/F-82) of Navolato - 18 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Jordon Crawford (168-PG) of Durango - 21 points and 13 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
