Liga Puertorriqueña 2001 has been won by Grises de Humacao, which beat Tiburones de Aguadilla 90-86, in the decisive Game 5 of Final Series. According to a lot of observers, the MVP of Final Series has been Angel 'Hommy' de Jesús. Next edition of LPB will start on Sept 12, 2002, and could see the participation of
10 or 12 franchises, with the expected new entries of Barceloneta, Yauco, Toa Alta, Fajardo and Aguada, where should be ready a new facility, with a 10,000 people capacity.
