Sendai 89ers rolled over Niigata Albirex 88:84 in the first appearance between the teams on October 17th. Pomare Leonardo had 26 points and 14 boards, while Takahashi Kenichi added 25. Burks Antonio poured in 19 points in the losing effort. Later in the season Tokyo Apache lost to Sendai 89ers 85:89 at the first game of the Regular Season Round 26. Pomare Leonardo stepped up with 26 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and Peppers Josh added 20. Ashby Julius collected 20 points and 15 boards in defeat. For the national team Leonardo Leonardo Pomare had 20 pts and 11 rebs in a 79:80 thriller from Dominicans, who ended Preliminary Round in Mayaguez with the perfect 3-0 record. In Centrobasket Panama grabbed the Bronze in Santo Domingo thanks to 75:74 thriller win against Cuba. Leonardo Pomare collected 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Jamaica closed this event with two straight wins. It means that Jamaicans ended as No.5 in Mayaguez, despite poor 0-2 in Preliminary Round. On the other side, Panama ended as the sixth ranked team. Jamaica closed this event with two straight wins. It means that Jamaicans ended as No.5 in Mayaguez, despite poor 0-2 in Preliminary Round. On the other side, Panama ended as the sixth ranked team. They registered just one win at this event. Andre Smith (188-G-80, college: NC-Asheville) was on fire for Jamaica with 28 points. He reached valuation 27 and was the MVP of this meeting. Garfield Johns (193-G-85, college: Utah) had 19 and Terrell Christie (193-G-83, college: S.Alabama) added 11 pts. In Panama, Josimar Ayarza (203-F-87) shined with 26 points and 6 boards. Desmond Smith (199-F-86, college: William & Mary) had 14 points and 6 rebs, while Ernesto Oglivie (199-F-89, agency: DR. Carlos Sifuentes) added 10 pts and 5 rebs. Second and third quarter were the crucial ones in this game. Before that, first ten minutes ended with 17-17 tie. Andre Smith and his teammates exploded for rest of the first half making 30-38 lead. They continued in the same rhythm after that and Panama was in deep trouble. Jamaicans drained 26 points in third quarter, while limiting their rivals to 16. It means that Jamaica was huge 18-points up was looking good. Last ten minutes were just the formality and Jamaica celebrated nice 64-83 for fifth place in Mayaguez.

Martinez was the MVP of this meeting with valuation 29. Carlos Paniagua (201-F/C-76, college: Tenn Temple) (10 rebs) and Kelvin Pena (193-G-80, college: Southeastern CC) helped with 15 points each. In the loosing squad, Jaime Lloreda (201-F/C-80, college: LSU) shined with 24 points and 17 rebounds. Leonardo Pomare (203-F-86, college: San Diego) added 20 pts and 11 rebs. Dominicans took control on Panama from the early beginning. They made 15-9 and later 25-15 lead in Q1. Panama replied with 15-19 in the second frame cutting the margin to 7 points at the HT. Both teams exploded offensively in Q3. Jack Michael Martinez was unstoppable and mostly owing to him Dominicans ended third frame with 30-26. They held double-digit lead before that last quarter, but than Panamanians totally cook control on Dominicans. Jaime Lloreda was on fire bringing his team close to victory, but at the end Dominicans were more focused and grabbed tiny 80-79 win. Panama will continue in Classification Round for 5th to 7th place.
