Joel Munoz
Caballos de Cocle Aguadulce (LPB) agreed terms with experienced 37-year old point guard Joel Munoz (183-80, agency: Paris Global Sports) from Toros. In 15 LPB games he had very impressive stats: 20.8ppg, 3.5rpg, 7.1apg and 1.3spg last season. A very spectacular year in his career as he was named to Panamanian LPB All-Star Game. Munoz also played that season for Correcaminos where in 6 Liga Americas games he recorded 4.0ppg, 1.0rpg, 4.7apg and 1.5spg (in top 4). The other team Munoz played that season for was Toros. In 15 LPB games he averaged remarkable 20.8ppg, 3.5rpg, 7.1apg and 1.3spg. Quite impressive season as he was named to Panamanian LPB All-Star Game.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Munoz played in the final of Panamanian LPB in 2015. He was also voted Latinbasket.com All-Panamanian LPB 1st Team in 2015.
Munoz represented Panama at the Centrobasket in Panama City (Panama) last year. His team got to the Semifinals and his stats at that event were 6 games: 6.5ppg, 2.0rpg, Assists-5 (4.5apg), Steals-3 (1.8spg), FGP: 58.3%, 3PT: 46.7%, FT: 66.7%.
Munoz is quite experienced player. He has played also professionally in Brazil (Liga Sorocaba, FTC EAD Bahia and Jacarei), Colombia, Mexico, Uruguay, Venezuela (Marinos) and Nicaragua (Davis and Leones).
It's very possible he may end his playing career at Caballos.
On Munoz: Good defender, good hands gain lot of lost balls and steals, good shooter from 2s and 3s.Also a disciplined team leader who can quarterback any team, changing the tempo of the game as will.
One of only few Panamanian quality guards
