Metropolitan League Round 5 (Second Stage): Libertad defeats Luqueno in the closest game of the week - Nov 4, 2016

There will be only one (last) round of the Second Stage in Metropolitan League.

The most exciting game of round 5 in the Metropolitan League took place in Luque. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 3rd placed Luqueno (1-4) to second ranked Libertad (4-1) 80-79 in the game for the second place. Luqueno was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Libertad maintains second place with 4-1 record behind leader Olimpia. Luqueno at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. Libertad's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Asuncion Olimpia.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Asuncion: Olimpia (#1) and Felix Perez (#4). Felix Perez was crushed at home by 22 points 57-79 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Undefeated Olimpia (5-0) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with a perfect record of 5 victories in a row. Felix Perez at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost. Olimpia's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Asuncion to the arena Libertad.

Felix Perez - Olimpia 57-79

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Asuncion: Olimpia (#1) and Felix Perez (#4). Felix Perez was crushed at home by 22 points 57-79 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The game was mostly controlled by Olimpia. Felix Perez was better in fourth quarter 15-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Olimpia (5-0) have an impressive series of five victories in a row.
