Metropolitan League Round 10: San Jose loses #1 position - Sep 12, 2017

Round 10 in Metropolitan means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Asuncion where host Olimpia (7-2) edged league's leader San Jose (7-2) 76-74 on Monday evening. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with San Jose and Sol de America. San Jose will play next round against Dep.Capiata trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Olimpia will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Ciudad Nueva at home.
Bottom-ranked Dep.Capiata (0-7) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 84-73 loss to sixth ranked Felix Perez (2-6) in Asuncion. Felix Perez maintains sixth position with 2-6 record. Dep.Capiata at the other side still closes the standings with seven games lost. Felix Perez will play against higher ranked Luqueno (#5) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Dep.Capiata will play against San Jose in Asuncion and hopes to get finally their first victory.
The game in supposed to be also quite interesting. Third ranked Sol de America (7-2) played at the court of 7th ranked Ciudad Nueva (1-7). Sol de America smashed Ciudad Nueva 93-44 on Monday. Sol de America have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with San Jose and Olimpia. Loser Ciudad Nueva keeps the seventh place with seven games lost. Sol de America's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Asuncion to the arena Libertad.
The game in Luque supposed to be also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Libertad (6-2) played at the court of 5th ranked Luqueno (4-6). Libertad smashed Luqueno 123-57. Libertad have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 6-2 record. Luqueno at the other side keeps the fifth place with six games lost. Libertad's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Asuncion Sol de America.

Ciudad Nueva - Sol de America 44-93
