Centro Naval de Peru signed two American players for the next season of Superior league. New members of the team are Starr Fairbanks (191-F/C-87, agency: Gamble Sports Management, college: Oklahoma City) and Treasure Johnson (182-G/F, agency: Gamble Sports Management, college: NC-Wilmington).
Starr Fairbanks most recently played for Romanian squad Galactica Olimpia Brasov. She joined them a year ago and it was a first pro deal for the player, but she appeared just once in Romanian league

Starr Fairbanks most recently played for Romanian squad Galactica Olimpia Brasov. She joined them a year ago and it was a first pro deal for the player, but she appeared just once in Romanian league. Fairbanks is a product of Oklahoma City (NAIA D1). She had 10/9 ppg and 3.9 rpg in 2010/11 season with her school. In 2010, they reached NAIA D1 Final Four and Fairbanks was named to NAIA D1 All-Tournament 1st Team. She will be used and position 4 and 5. Treasure Johnson played last season for Metro Atlanta Sparks (WUBA) averaging 18.3 points, 8.1 rebounds and 4 assists for 8 games. Johnson graduated at NC-Wilmington University a year ago. She had 4.7 ppg and 2.5 rpg for her school as a senior and they reached CAA Tournament Semifinals.

Regatas Lima got to a slow start at the South American Club Championship in Quito. The Peruvian powerhouse suffered two losses in three games played at the tournament.
Regatas Lima took on hosting UTE in the opener. UTE clinched a comfortable 108:50 win at the end. Regatas faced a 30-point halftime deficit and never recovered afterwards. Regatas Lima got to a quick start against Lanus in the second round. The Peruvian team piled up a 35:24 halftime lead. However a 9:21 third frame turned things around for Regatas. They could not recover in the final frame and suffered a 54:60 loss. Zuleira Aties notched 18 points and 13 rebounds. Kieraah Marlow (178-F-85) finished with 13 points in the loss. Regatas Lima finally opened their win count in the third round of the competition. They outscored Uruguayan Malvin 56:43. Regatas Lima built a 14-point lead after the opening quarter and never looked back en route to the win. Zuleira Aties came up with 19 points and 11 boards in the victory. Daniela Porras and Kieraah Marlow added 10 points each for Regatas.

Regatas Lima is the winner of 2012 National Championship. The competition ended today. Regatas Lima outplayed Esclavas del Sagrado Corazon de Arequipa in the Big Final. Imports Jaleesa Butler and Elvira Pino were the leading players in victory. Pino was named MVP of the National Championship.
