LBL Round 6: Inmaculada loses the game and top position - Mar 20, 2016

Coincidentally all hosts won their games.

There was a change at the LBL leadership position after last games. Round 6 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Inmaculada (2-1). They were defeated by fifth ranked Ejercito (2-1) 78-64 on Friday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Inmaculada. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Ejercito moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Inmaculada. Inmaculada will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. Ejercito will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked San Marcos at home.
The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Real Club as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Real Club defeated one of their biggest challengers Regatas at home 49-41. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Regatas. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Real Club have a solid three-game winning streak. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Regatas at the other side dropped to the second place with one game lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Regatas will play next round against El Bosque trying to get back on the winning streak. Real Club will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.

Larre Borges Montevideo (LUB) signed 29-year old American forward Howard Crawford (205-107kg-88, college: UAB). He played last summer at Regatas in Peruvian LNB league. In three Liga Sudamericana games he had 13.0ppg, 8.3rpg, 1.7apg and 1.3spg. Crawford ended the last season at Politehnica Iasi (Liga I) in Romanian league. Club Deportes Espanol de Talca (Liga Nacional) signed 26-year old American forward Nate Drayton (203-118kg-91, college: W.Texas A&M). He played last summer at Clinicas in Peruvian LNB league. Drayton managed to play in three leagues in three countries last year. He also played for Quezaltepeque Biomedical in Salvadorean Liga MB that season where in 17 games he had very impressive stats: 18.4ppg, 14.1rpg and 1.1bpg.
