College players David Huertas (196-G-87, college: Florida) and Samuel Hernandez reached an agreement to play this season on the 2009 BSN tournament. Huertas, who had just quit to his last year of eligibility on Ole Mississippi University on the NCAA to make the jump to the professionalism, will play for the returning Piratas de Quebradillas according to the teams coach Omar Gonzalez. He will miss about 3 to 4 games due to study reasons; officially he is a Pirate now, said Gonzalez. He will now join a very young and talented lineup which includes Joel Jones Camacho, Peter John Ramos (222-C-85, Fuenlabrada-Spain),and former UCON husky and NBA player Marcus Williams who will be featuring as the one of the Piratas import players. On the other side, Hernandez, sign with the reigning champions Capitanes de Arecibo according to an announcement on this teams website. Samy, which contract still pending the leagues approval to became official, will join Marcus Fizer (203-F-78, agency: Priority Sports, college: Iowa St.), Jeff Aubrey(205-C-76, agency: Paris Global Sports, college: Cornell) and Buster Figueroa (196-G/F-81, college: Dowling) as a part of a very deep rotation with a lot of potential to repeat as BSN champions.
