Indios de Mayaguez recovered from a very slow start and dominated Vaqueros de Bayamon 85-66.

Indios now have a 2-1 series lead and the semifinals continue on Monday at Bayamon.

Bayamon started the game with a 12-0 run, and even had a 17-3 lead midway into the first quarter, but Mayaguez kept chipping away to be down at the half 34-32.

In the third quarter Mayaguez scored 32 points against just 12 from Bayamon and never looked back.

Oritseweyinmi Efejuku (196-G-86, college: Providence) had 18 points and Donta Smith (201-G-83, college: SE Illinois JC) 12 for Mayaguez who keep dominating in the second half thanks to their large rotation, intensity and youth.

Bayamon shot 25 times from three point range and their best scorer was center Michael Sweetney (203-F-82, college: Georgetown) who had 12 points.

Gates replaces Harellson in Guayama - May 18, 2013

Brujos de Guayama announced the signing of forward/center Yancy Gates (206-F-89, college: Cincinnati). His debut is expected to be tonight against Indios de Mayaguez. Gates played for Pieno Zvaigzdes in Lithuania. He replaces Josh Harellson who averaged 10,9 points and 8,2 rebounds in 20 games. Mets make another coaching change - May 18, 2013

Mets de Guaynabo announced that Angel Lopez Panelli resigned as head coach and signed veteran coach Carlos Mario Rivera. Lopez Panelli had a 5-6 record with Guaynabo and in his last game they lost 92-66 to Ponce after a 51-28 second half. Rivera coached for the last time in BSN during the 2010 season with Gallitos de Isabela. On Thursday Indios de Mayaguez dominated Vaqueros de Bayamon 85-74. Indios now have a seven-game winning streak and Bayamon has a five-game losing skid. Danilo Pinnock (196-G-83, college: G.Washington) netted 24 points and Weyinmi Efejuku-Rose 18 for the winners. Mayaguez has a 13-8 record and is currently in third place.
