BSN informed that Patrick O'Bryant (213-C-86, college: Bradley) was voted as the Defensive Player of the Year for the 2012 BSN season.
O'Bryant got 48 points and was followed by Jeff Aubry who had 24, Mamadou Lamizana followed with 22, Al Thornton 19 and David Cortes 18. The voting was made of a panel of members of the press, owners and coaches.
The center had 52 blocks in 30 games for an average of 1.7 being the second best in the league in that department. His averages during the season were 12.8 points and 8.2 rebounds for Mayaguez.
Mayaguez allowed only 81.2 points per game and as a team led the league in steals and were third in blocked shots. O'Bryant offered defensive presence inside and his blocks helped startup their fast break attack.

The game at Santurce saw the debut of Carlos Mario Rivera as head coach of the Mets. The team made some defensive adjustments and offensively played aggressively to get the win. Larry Ayuso (190-G-77, agency: Paris Global Sports, college: USC) netted 23 points for the winners.
The only game scheduled for Monday is Brujos de Guayama at Leones de Ponce. Guayama has lost seven games in a row.
The Bayamon Cowboys continue making moves looking to achieve qualification for the playoffs. This time they signed former team member guard Raymond Barbosa (188-G-84, agency: Paris Global Sports, college: UMBC).
Barbosa, who was released by the Mets de Guaynabo, played for Bayamon from 2009 to 2011, when he was traded to Humacao with Kennel Sanchez (195-G/F-83, college: Drexel) for Miguel Ali Berdiel(198-G-83, college: Valparaiso)l [read more]

Barbosa, who was released by the Mets de Guaynabo, played for Bayamon from 2009 to 2011, when he was traded to Humacao with Kennel Sanchez (195-G/F-83, college: Drexel) for Miguel Ali Berdiel (198-G-83, college: Valparaiso)l. In 2010, had an outstanding performance with the Cowboys in the playoffs contributing to the team reached the final and finishing asrunner-up. In 13 games with Guaynabo, Barbosa 6'2 "averaged 5.3 minutes and 2.5 points per game, shooting 64.7 percent for a field.
