BSN Finals, Game 5: Arecibo - Mayaguez 61-72 (1-4 win)

Indios de Mayaguez won the 2012 BSN title last night. They outplayed Capitanes de Arecibo in Game Five of the Finals winning the series with almost perfect 4-1. Arecibo is dethroned after two years.
The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 72-61. Indios dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Capitanes' 26 and they also made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent). Oritseweyinmi Efejuku (196-G-86, college: Providence) top-scored in victory with 13 points, while American center Kentrell Gransberry (206-85, college: S.Florida) had 12 points and 8 rebounds. His fellow American import Alexander Franklin (196-88, college: Siena) contributed with 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Indios' coach Eddie Casiano used entire bench in this game. Larry Ayuso (190-77, college: USC, agency: Global Sports Plaza) answered with 20 points and 5 rebounds and Danilo Pinnock (196-83, college: G.Washington) added 13 points in the effort for Capitanes.
Mayaguez was third ranked team of the regular season with 6-4 record. They eliminated Bayamon with 4-2 in the Semis. Alexander Franklin is named MVP of the BSN Finals.

Ten teams for 2017 BSN season - 13 hours ago
BSN announced that ten teams will participate in the 2017 season after Santurce folded. During the meeting the owners approved the relocation of the Manati franchise to Fajardo. Felo Rivera will be the franchise holder and Carlos Arroyo is going to be part owner and player. The 2017 franchises are Aguada, Arecibo, Bayamon, Fajardo, Guayama, Humacao, Mayagueez, Ponce, San German and Quebradillas. The 2017 season starts on April 6 and each team is going to play 36 games. Atenas Cordoba (LigaA) signed 26-year old Puerto Rican guard Jezreel De Jesus (185-82kg-91, agency: Interperformances). He started the season at Al Wakrah in Qatari D1 league. In two games he had 14.5ppg, 4.5rpg, 3.0apg and 2.5spg this season. Libertad Sunchales (LigaA) cut 33-year old Puerto Rican ex-international guard Jesse Pellot-Rosa (193-88kg-84, college: VCU, agency: Paris Global Sports). He has a double citizenship as he also holds American passport. But in only one LigaA game he did not score anything and had only 1 rebound.
