Piratas de Quebradillas announced the signing of forward Donta Smith(201-SF-83, college: SE Illinois JC) for the 2017 season. Smith made his debut in Puerto Rico during the 2009 with Carolina. He then played for Bayamon in 2010 and won the championship along with MVP honors during the 2012 season with Mayaguez. Ten teams for 2017 BSN season - 2 days ago
BSN announced that ten teams will participate in the 2017 season after Santurce folded. During the meeting the owners approved the relocation of the Manati franchise to Fajardo. Felo Rivera will be the franchise holder and Carlos Arroyo is going to be part owner and player. The 2017 franchises are Aguada, Arecibo, Bayamon, Fajardo, Guayama, Humacao, Mayagueez, Ponce, San German and Quebradillas. The 2017 season starts on April 6 and each team is going to play 36 games.
