Piratas de Quebradillas continue their rebuilding process by getting the pieces they want. Yesterday they traded Giovanni Jimenez (187-PG-82, college: St.Johns River CC) to Caciques/Gigantes for guard Jonathan Garcia (183-G-87, agency: Paris Global Sports).

Garcia started his career in Caguas during the 2006 season under Head Coach Leo Arill and owner Felo Rivera who are now in Quebradillas. Last season Garcia averaged 8.67 points and 5.2 assists in 29 games. He owns the league record in assists with 33 achieved on May 1 against Guayama.

Another trade is almost done as Quebradillas offered Joel Jones (196-G/F-81, agency: Paris Global Sports, college: Sacramento St.) and the eighth pick to San German for Jesse Pellot-Rosa (193-G-84, agency: Paris Global Sports, college: VCU) and the fourth pick. San German is analyzing the proposal and will make a decision soon.

Pellot is expected to be used as a small forward in Quebradillas while San German needs to trade Pellot since they don't have the money to keep him. Pellot was offered a two-year deal by Bayamon and San German is expected to match the offer and trade him.

Jones is going to be a key figure in San German since they lack depth in their native talent for next season. San German lost Filiberto Rivera to Caciques/Gigantes and Raul Orta to the Venezuelan League.

Vaqueros of Bayamon complete their import player duo with center Devin Williams(206-F-94, college: W.Virginia). Williams is in his second year of pro. He played this season en the GLeague averaging 11.8ppg and 10.9rpg, also played for team USA in the FIBA classifications. The other import player is Ricky Ledo. Cariduros of Fajardo complete their import player duo with center Omar Samhan(211-C-88, college: St.Mary's, CA) Samhan have two year experience in BSN. He first come with Atleticos of San German and last year with Santeros of Aguada. The other import player is Damion James. Samhan is an excellent rebounder and defend well in the paint. Fajardo expect to use him in the center position but he can play the power forward, he have a decent three point shoot that use with space converting him...   [read more]

Ramon Clemente's double-double lands him Player of the Week award among Puerto Ricans playing currently abroad: - 5 days ago
Here is the weekly review of the top performing Puerto Rican players, who play currently abroad. This week's number one is an experienced international power forward Ramon Clemente (200-85). He could not help Olimpico de La Banda (15-19) in their last game. Despite Clemente's very good performance Olimpico de La Banda lost 79-92 on the road to the much higher-ranked (#4) Atenas.    [read more]
