Joel Jones
Piratas de Quebradillas continue their rebuilding process by getting the pieces they want. Yesterday they traded Giovanni Jimenez (187-PG-82, college: St.Johns River CC) to Caciques/Gigantes for guard Jonathan Garcia (183-G-87, agency: Paris Global Sports).

Garcia started his career in Caguas during the 2006 season under Head Coach Leo Arill and owner Felo Rivera who are now in Quebradillas. Last season Garcia averaged 8.67 points and 5.2 assists in 29 games. He owns the league record in assists with 33 achieved on May 1 against Guayama.

Another trade is almost done as Quebradillas offered Joel Jones (196-G/F-81, agency: Paris Global Sports, college: Sacramento St.) and the eighth pick to San German for Jesse Pellot-Rosa (193-G-84, agency: Paris Global Sports, college: VCU) and the fourth pick. San German is analyzing the proposal and will make a decision soon.

Pellot is expected to be used as a small forward in Quebradillas while San German needs to trade Pellot since they don't have the money to keep him. Pellot was offered a two-year deal by Bayamon and San German is expected to match the offer and trade him.

Jones is going to be a key figure in San German since they lack depth in their native talent for next season. San German lost Filiberto Rivera to Caciques/Gigantes and Raul Orta to the Venezuelan League.
