Puerto Rican national team forward Alexander Galindo (200-F-85, college: FIU) has a new home for the 2013 season as he was part yesterday of a three-way deal between Brujos, Atleticos and Cangrejeros.

Galindo was traded from Brujos de Guayama to Atleticos de San German for Joel Jones (196-G/F-81, agency: Paris Global Sports, college: Sacramento St.) and Joel Nieves (191-G-87, college: S.Idaho JC). San German then traded Galindo to Cangrejeros de Santurce for Richard Chaney (196-G-84, college: Troy).

Chaney played last season in San German but was originally a reserve of Santurce who decided not to play in 2012. San German got him in the draft and liked him enough to trade for him. Last season he averaged 10,08 points and 5,5 rebounds. He is better known for his defensive skills.

Galindo averaged 15,15 points last season for Guayama and played for the national team in the FIBA Olympic Qualifier where he had a great game against Lithuania. He is playing for Malvin in Uruguay and is expected to make it on time for the BSN season.

In this trade Guayama added depth to the shooting guard position and also added flexibility since Jones can play as a small forward. They already have Juan Coronado and Erick Rodriguez secured for this season. They recently released Jesus Verdejo (193-G-85, college: S.Florida).

All the teams are expected to continue making moves as the BSN Draft is on January 30.

Despite Clemente's very good performance Fuerza Regia lost 78-90 on the road to the lower-ranked (#7) Toros.    [read more]
