Umana Reyer Venezia (SerieA) waived 27-year old American (has also Puerto Rican passport) point guard Denis Clemente (183-75kg-86, college: Kansas State, agency: KMG Sports Management). Clemente also played at VL_Pesaro earlier that season. In 8 SerieA games this season he recorded 3.9ppg and 1.5rpg. The other team he played shortly was Nuovo Napoli (Lega2). In three games this year he averaged impressive 15.3ppg, 3.0rpg, 5.3apg and 1.3spg.
The last season Clemente played at BK Edymax SPU Nitra (Extraliga) in Slovakian Extraliga. In 34 games last year he averaged impressive 17.9ppg, 3.3rpg, 3.7apg and 1.5spg. He helped them to win the cup and make to league semifinals. Great season indeed as he was voted to All-Slovakian League Honorable Mention. Clemente also played 6 games in EuroChallenge where he averaged impressive 17.8ppg, 3.8rpg, 3.2apg and 2.8spg.
The previous (2011) summer he played at Caciques (BSN) in Puerto Rican BSN. In 27 games he averaged 14.6ppg, 3.6rpg, 4.4apg (top 5) and 1.0spg. A very good season in his career as he was awarded All-Puerto Rican BSN Rookie of the Year and Honorable Mention. Another team Clemente played that season for was Marousi BC (A1) in Greek A1. In 13 games that year he averaged 8.4ppg, 1.3rpg and 1.3apg.
He received Florida Class A1 Player of the Year award back in 2004 at his college time.
Clemente has played also professionally in Israel (Maccabi Rishon).
He attended Kansas State until 2010 and it is his third season in pro basketball.
The scouts decsribe him following way: A PG with great personality and leadership; quick, aggressive and highly confident. His best offensive weapon is his ability to shoot off the dribble from long or midrange, and has the ability to penetrate and get into the paint. Hes at his best in transition, where he uses good speed and a good feel for the open floor. Has the ability to catch fire. Able to operate on the pick and roll. Good feel for the basket, can hit tough, off balance shots. He shows great intensity and competitiveness on both sides of the ball, which can help energize teammates and the crowd. Defensively, brings terrific toughness and intensity to the table. He competes on every possession and doesn't back down from opponents.

BSN Round 8: Santeros beat Capitanes in the most crucial game of the week - 10 hours ago
It's still too early stage of the Regular Season in BSN, but even now we can clearly see the differece between stronger teams and outsiders. An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Arecibo. First ranked Santeros faced 4th ranked Capitanes. Guests from Coamo (7-1) defeated host Capitanes (4-3) 82-67. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Capitanes. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. T...   [read more]

Cady Lalanne
Lalanne number one in Puerto Rico for week 7 - 1 day ago
American Center Cady Lalanne (208-C-92) put on an amazing game in the last week for Arecibo, receiving a Player of the Week award for week 7. The 24-year old player was the main contributor (22 points, nine rebounds) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Guayama (#10, 2-6) 99-92. Arecibo maintains the 4th position in Puerto Rican BSN. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season.
