BSN approved a $120,000 salary cap for native players that have six or more years in the league.

This was done during a Board of Directors meeting on Wednesday. They also approved Salvi Villella as the new owner of Mets de Guaynabo.

The salary cap does not include rookie players who have an established cap of $25,000 to 40,000 per season. This does not include players with one year of NBA experience and 5 years of playing in European League. Those players can have the right to the maximum amount of cap established by the league.


Imports also have a salary cap which is $5,000 a week. This was approved last season.

Also the league announced that players interested in entering the rookie draft have until this Sunday. The draft is on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. at the Puerto Rican Olympic Committee. The official draft order is below.

First Round:

3. Leones de Ponce
4. Piratas de Quebradillas
5. Brujos de Guayama

The BSN and the Players Association finally reach an agreement for a 2 years term. They was negotiating months ago and finally yesterday in a press conference they announce it. LNBP newcomer Garzas de Plata Hidalgo added to their roster 26-year old Puerto Rican international shooting guard Michael Rosario (190-83kg-90, college: Florida). La Villa lands Peter Ramos - 15 days ago

La Villa (La Vega League) tabbed 31-year old Puerto Rican international center Peter Ramos (222-134kg-85). He has a double citizenship as he also holds American passport. Ramos played in the summer at Vaqueros de Bayamon in Puerto Rican BSN league. In 49 games he averaged impressive 16.0ppg, 8.2rpg and 1.8apg.
