After finalizing the 2016 regular season for the BSN in Puerto Rico these three teams can't advance to the playoffs. It was a very interesting finish line for the season where all the teams got a chance to make playoffs near the final date of the season. Here a summary of the expectations of these three teams versus the reality.

Indios of Mayaguez expectations was to play and participate only since the beginning of the season. They start there preseason 3-4 weeks before the opening date with a team without key or stars players. They only have veterans Alex Galindo and Filiberto Rivera as the key native players for the team. During the season the figure of Kevin Young emerges to be the future of the team also they acquire point guard Gaby Belardo to be part of the young core of the Indios for next season. In conclusion they meet their expectations of participate this year.

Atenienses of Manati expectations was to return to playoffs with nearly the same players that they had last season with Ricky Sanchez as there key players, he was changed in the trade deadeline for small forward Alejandro Bimbo Carmona. They also named Francisco Paco Olmos as coach with the objective to overcome last season run. Owner Felo Rivera give hope to the fans announcing the comeback to basketball of Nathan Peavy but that was only a dream, Peavy never make the comeback and return home to continue his rehabilitation. Felo told a newspapers that he assume all the faults of Manati being eliminated for the playoffs. What is the next step in Manati for 2017 season?

Atleticos of San German expectations was the most for these three teams. Last season they fall in quarterfinal in five games to Leones of Ponce. This team could be the deception of the tournament. They was expecting to advance to the final four teams but they were eliminated in regular season. They have a very talented young core that was commanded by Hector Bobby Porrata as a coach in their second year of a project of develop a young core of players with the goal of a championship in 3-4 years but the owners patience finish with the dismiss of Porrata and they sign Juan Cardona as coach. They need to reflect this season and analyze what they do incorrect to fix it and return with a special motivation for 2017 season.
