Galil Gilboa lands Gilberto Clavell, ex Aguada - Jan 7, 2017

Hapoel Galil Gilboa (Winner League) tabbed 28-year old Puerto Rican forward Gilberto Clavell (200-95kg-89, college: Sam Houston State, agency: Inception Sports). He played in the summer at Aguada in Puerto Rican BSN league. In 24 games he averaged 8.5ppg and 3.3rpg. Clavell helped them to make it to the semifinals. The last season he played at Hapoel Afula (National League) where in 16 games he was fifth best scorer with impressive 20.8ppg and recorded 8.0rpg and 2.9apg. He can count that season as a very successful as was awarded Eurobasket.com All-Israeli National League Forward of the Year, selected to 1st Team and selected to All-Imports Team.
Among other achievements Clavell's team won Southland Conference West Division Regular Season for two years in a row (2010 and 2011). He received also All-Southland Conf. Player of the Year award back in 2011 at his college time.
Clavell was also a member of Puerto Rican international program for some years. He played for Puerto Rican Senior National Team two years ago and previously for U21 National Team in 2006.
Clavell represented Puerto Rico at the Panamerican Games in Toronto (Canada) two years ago. His stats at that event were 3 games: 6.7ppg, 3.3rpg, FGP: 50.0%.
And here thanks to pro basketball Clavell experienced life on three different continents. He is familiar with European, Latin American and of course North American leagues. Clavell has played previously professionally in Finland (Kouvot) and Israel (Hapoel Migdal Haemek).
He attended Sam Houston State until 2011 and it will be his sixth season in pro basketball.

Huracanes del Atlantico (LNB) strengthened their roster with addition of 28-year old American forward Anthony Young (200-113kg-89, college: Ky Wesleyan, agency: Interperformances). He played in the summer at Capitanes de Arecibo in Puerto Rican BSN league. In 9 games he recorded 12.6ppg, 4.2rpg and 1.2apg.
