Donte Greene
Defending champion Capitanes de Arecibo (BSN) strengthened their roster with addition of 29-year old American forward Donte Greene (206-103kg-88, college: Syracuse). He played last summer at Leones de Santo Domingo in LNB league in Dominican Republic. In 13 games he recorded very impressive stats: 18.3ppg, 5.5rpg, 1.9apg and 1.5spg.
Part of last season Greene spent at Uhud (SBL) in Saudi Arabian league. He helped them to make it to the semifinals. Greene also played that season for Al Sharjah (D1) in UAE league.
In 2008 he was drafted by Memphis Grizzlies (NBA) in first round (28th overall). The former Syracuse University standoutis in his ninth season in pro basketball.
Greene was voted Big East All-Freshman Team back in 2008 at his college time.
Greene represented USA at the World Championships U19 in Novi Sad (Serbia) ten years ago. His team won Silver and his stats at that event were 9 games: 3.8ppg, 1.3rpg.
Greene is quite experienced player. Thanks to his pro career he managed to play on three different continents (Asia, Latin America and of course North America) in four different countries. Greene has played previously professionally in China (Leopards), NBA (Boston Celtics, Brooklyn Nets and Sacramento Kings), Puerto Rico (Atleticos and Brujos) and United Arab Emirates (Al Naser).
