Vaqueros de Bayamon (BSN) is close to ink 29-year old Puerto Rican international swingman Alex Franklin (198-103kg-88, college: Siena) who currently played at Toros de Nuevo Laredo in Mexico. It will actually be his comeback to Vaqueros as he has played here before. Franklin has a double citizenship as he also holds American passport. In 10 CIBACOPA games he recorded 10.8ppg, 3.3rpg, 1.8apg and 1.0spg this season. The last summer Franklin played at Vaqueros where in 35 BSN games he averaged 10.4ppg, 5.2rpg, 2.1apg and 1.2spg. He helped them to win the regular season and make it to the final.
Among other achievements Franklin received Eurobasket.com All-Spanish LEB Gold Honorable Mention award back in 2011.
He also represented Puerto Rico at the Central American and Caribbean Games in Veracruz (Mexico) three years ago. Franklin's team won Bronze and his stats at that event were 4 games: 4.3ppg, 2.5rpg, 1.5spg.
Franklin is a very experienced player. He has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to ten different countries on three different continents (Europe, Latin America and of course North America). Franklin has played previously professionally in Dominican Rep., France, Germany (Deutsche Bank Skyliners), Israel (Maccabi Raanana), Poland (AZS Koszalin), Uruguay (Aguada), Spain (Magia_Huesca), Dominican Republic (Titanes Licey) and Puerto Rico (Indios).
He attended Siena College until 2010 and it is his seventh season in pro basketball.
Franklin's game is described as: A gifted and talented forward, he plays the game above the rim. He brings a lot of energy, is athletic and has a good attitude.

Capitanes de Arecibo lost to Fuerza Regia 79-67 in day one of Liga de las Americas. The team from Monterrey had a great day from long distance and used that along with a physical game on defense to dominate. Jordan Glynn(200-F-89, college: SF Austin) led Fuerza Regia with 18 points and Juan Toscano added 13. Guard Jezreel De Jesus led Arecibo with 25 points, 20 of them in the second half to lead a late charge. Today Arecibo faces Ferro from Argentina.   [read more]

Leones sign Collier and Lopez - 8 hours ago
Leones de Ponce completed their roster for Liga de las Americas with the signing of Devon Collier(203-PF-91, college: Oregon St.) and Carlos Lopez-Sosa (208-F-90, college: UNLV, agency: Paris Global Sports). Collier just played with Poitiers in France and averaged 12.1 points and 5.4 rebounds in 14 games. Lopez played one game in the G-League and just finished in Chile. William Orozco selected the top Puerto Rican playing abroad in last week's games - 16 hours ago
We bring you last week's top performances from Puerto Ricans who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level. This week's number one is an experienced former international forward William Orozco (201-85, agency: Paris Global Sports). He could not help Toros (13-15) in their last game.
