Clavell
Santeros de Aguada (BSN) signed 28-year old Puerto Rican ex-international forward Gilberto Clavell (200-95kg-89, college: Sam Houston State, agency: Inception Sports). It is actually his comeback to Santeros as he has played here before. Clavell He just played at Galil Gilboa in Israeli National League. In two games he had 6.0ppg and 3.5rpg this season. The last season Clavell played at Hapoel Afula (Winner League) in Israel where in 16 games he recorded very impressive stats: 20.8ppg, 8.0rpg and 2.9apg. Great season as he was voted Eurobasket.com All-Israeli National League Forward of the Year, named to 1st Team and named to All-Imports Team.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Clavell's team won Southland Conference West Division Regular Season for two years in a row (2010 and 2011). He was also voted All-Southland Conf. Player of the Year back in 2011 at his college time.
Clavell was also a member of Puerto Rican international program for some years. He played for Puerto Rican Senior National Team two years ago and previously for U21 National Team in 2006.
Clavell represented Puerto Rico at the Panamerican Games in Toronto (Canada) two years ago. His stats at that event were 3 games: 6.7ppg, 3.3rpg, FGP: 50.0%.
Clavell has played on three different continents (Europe, Latin America and of course North America). He has played previously professionally also in Finland (Kouvot) and Puerto Rico (Caciques).
Clavell attended Sam Houston State until 2011 and it is his sixth season as a professional player.

American Damion James (201-F-87) put on an extraordinary performance in the last week for Fajardo and that's him to receive a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for week 8. The 29-year old forward had a double-double of 23 points and seventeen rebounds, while his team beat Guayama (#10, 2-7) 81-70. Fajardo maintains the 6th position in Puerto Rican BSN. BSN Round 8: Santeros beat Capitanes in the most crucial game of the week - 2 days ago
It's still too early stage of the Regular Season in BSN, but even now we can clearly see the differece between stronger teams and outsiders. An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Arecibo. First ranked Santeros faced 4th ranked Capitanes. Guests from Coamo (7-1) defeated host Capitanes (4-3) 82-67.
