Wilkins
American Guard Damien Wilkins (198-G-80) had a great game in the last week for Guayama, receiving a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for week 4.
The 36-year old player was the main contributor (25 points, four rebounds and four assists) to his team's victory, helping them to crush Aguada (#2, 3-1) with 17-point margin 75-58. Guayama is placed at 10th position in Puerto Rican BSN. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 3 games and recorded just one victory. In the team's last game Wilkins had a remarkable 53.8% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Guayama and it was his first game, where he immediately became new team's leader.

The second best player in last week's games was 26-year old American David Laury (206-F-90) of Mayaguez. Laury had a very good evening with 25 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Bad luck as Mayaguez lost that game 90-98 to the higher-ranked Humacao (#5, 2-2). Despite lost game Mayaguez moved up to 8th position in the standings. 3 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Mayaguez managed to get this year. Laury is one of the most experienced players at Mayaguez and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.8ppg (#6). He also registered 9.0 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last week was another Mayaguez's star - former international guard Jezreel De Jesus (185-G-91, agency: Interperformances). De Jesus showcased his all-around game by recording 26 points, five rebounds and five assists in the last week. Despite De Jesus' great performance Mayaguez lost 90-98 to the higher-ranked Humacao (#5, 2-2). But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates. Mayaguez can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 1-3 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for De Jesus he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. De Jesus has a very solid season. In 4 games in Puerto Rico he scored 20.8ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Jarrid Famous (209-C/F-88) of Humacao - 16 points and 14 rebounds
5. Jeleel Akindele (216-C-83) of Bayamon - 10 points, 14 rebounds and 8 assists
6. Hakim Warrick (206-F/C-82) of Ponce - 22 points and 7 rebounds
7. Alexander Galindo (200-PF-85) of Humacao - 24 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Benito Santiago (198-F-89) of San German - 14 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists
9. Eugene Phelps (198-F-90) of Guayama - 15 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Elias Ayuso (190-SG-77) of Guayama - 22 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
