Victor Liz
30-year old shooting guard Victor Liz (188-SG-86, agency: Basket Management Solutions) had an amazing evening in the last week for Ponce and receives a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for week 6.
He had a double-double of 30 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat Quebradillas (#2, 4-2) 92-87. Ponce is placed at 6th position in Puerto Rican league. Ponce is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 3-3 record. In the team's last game Liz had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 9 attempts. He just recently signed at Ponce, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Liz has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (5th best: 20.2ppg) and averages solid 43.2% from behind 3-point line.

Second best performed player last week was Alexander Galindo (200-PF-85) of Humacao. He is international forward in his first season at Humacao. In the last game Galindo recorded impressive 22 points and 7 rebounds. It was enough for Humacao to edge the lower-ranked San German (#7, 2-5) by 5 points 112-107. This victory allowed Humacao to move up to 3rd position in the standings. His team's 5-2 record is not bad at all. Galindo is one of the most experienced players at Humacao and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to another Ponce's star - forward Hakim Warrick (206-F/C-82). Warrick showcased his all-around game by recording 23 points, eleven rebounds (!!!) and five assists in the last week. He was another key player of Ponce, helping his team with a 92-87 win against the higher-ranked Quebradillas (#2, 4-2). Ponce needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 3 lost games. Warrick has a great season in Puerto Rico. After only 6 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.0ppg (6th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. David Huertas (195-G/F-87) of Arecibo - 31 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists
5. Chane Behanan (198-F-92) of Arecibo - 18 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists
6. Donta Smith (201-SF-83) of Quebradillas - 14 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists
7. Carlos Arroyo (188-PG-79) of Fajardo - 20 points, 4 rebounds and 11 assists
8. Ismael Romero (203-C-91) of San German - 16 points and 7 rebounds
9. Yudniel Perez (189-G-84) of San German - 16 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Carlos Emory (196-F-91) of Ponce - 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
