Eric Dawson
After 7 rounds played we can already see who rules in the BSN and who belongs to weaker ones.

The most shocking disappointment of round 7 was only one-point a home defeat of 5th ranked Fajardo (3-4) to sixth ranked Leones (4-3) 88-87 in the game for the fifth place. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 88-87. Leones looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for American power forward Eric Dawson (206-84, college: Midwestern St., agency: Haylett Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international forward Carlos Emory (196-91) helped adding 23 points. At the losing side international point guard Carlos Arroyo (188-79, college: FIU, agency: Interperformances) responded with 24 points and 5 assists. Leones have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place. Fajardo lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. Leones are looking forward to face league's second-placed Caciques in Humacao in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Fajardo will play on the road against Brujos (#10) in Guayama and is hoping to win this game.
Important game to mention about took place in Mayaguez. Ninth ranked Indios (2-5) saved a 2-point victory at home edging much higher ranked Piratas (4-2) 97-95 on Wednesday evening. It was an exceptional evening for American forward David Laury (206-90, college: Iona) who led the winners and scored 24 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Devon Collier accounted for 19 points and 7 rebounds. Indios' coach Bobby Porrata allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American-Venezuelan Donta Smith (201-83, college: SE Illinois JC) came up with 15 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for Piratas in the defeat. Indios moved-up to eighth place, which they share with San German. Piratas at the other side dropped to the third position with two games lost. They share it with Arecibo. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
The game in San German was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Caciques (5-2) played at the court of 6th ranked Atleticos (2-5). Caciques defeated Atleticos 98-83 on Wednesday. Brandon Costner fired 23 points for the winners. Justin Keenan produced 29 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Caciques have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Atleticos lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. They share it with Mayaguez. Caciques will meet Leones (#5) in the next round. Atleticos will play against Vaqueros and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 7 Arecibo won against Guayama on the opponent's court 99-92.

Guayama - Arecibo 92-99

Very expected game in Guayama where 9th ranked Brujos (2-6) were defeated by fourth ranked Capitanes (4-2) 99-92 on Thursday. The guests trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 30-18 charge, which allowed them to win the game.
