Center Jorge Bryan Diaz (210-C-89) had a very impressive game in the last week for Quebradillas and that's him to receive a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for week 20.
The 27-year old center had the game-high 30 points adding eight rebounds for Quebradillas in his team's victory, helping them to beat Guayama (#6, 8-11) 92-79. Quebradillas maintains the 3rd position in Puerto Rican BSN. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Quebradillas will need more victories to improve their 10-6 record. In the team's last game Diaz had a remarkable 86.7% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Quebradillas, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Jorge Bryan Diaz averages this season 13.6ppg and 6.7rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last week's games was 29-year old American forward Damion James (201-F-87) of second-ranked Fajardo. James impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 27 points and 15 rebounds. It was enough for Fajardo to edge slightly lower-ranked Arecibo (#4, 9-10) by 5 points 100-95. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Fajardo consolidated its place in top 2 of the standings. His team's 12-6 record is not bad at all. James is one of the most experienced players at Fajardo and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last week was American Damien Wilkins (198-G-80) of Guayama (#6). Wilkins showcased his all-around game by recording 28 points, seven rebounds and five assists in the last week. He was a key player of Guayama, leading his team to a 80-79 win against Humacao (8-11). The chances of Guayama ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 11 games, recording just eight victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Wilkins could help Guayama to bring them higher in the standings. Wilkins has a great season in Puerto Rico. After 16 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.7ppg (3rd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Ismael Romero (203-C-91) of Bayamon - 24 points and 10 rebounds
5. Shawn James (208-C-83) of Fajardo - 17 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists
6. Alejandro Carmona (194-G/F-83) of Quebradillas - 27 points and 5 rebounds
7. Jarrid Famous (209-C/F-88) of Humacao - 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Wil Martinez (188-G-92) of Humacao - 33 points and 5 rebounds
9. Kleon Penn (213-C-86) of Guayama - 9 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Omar Samhan (211-C-88) of Aguada - 14 points, 14 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
