BM Slam Stal Ostrow Wlkp. (TBL) signed experienced 34-year old Vincentian international center Shawn King (208-100kg-82, college: ORU, agency: Pensack Sports). He already started the season at BCM Gravelines Dunkerque Grand Littoral in French ProA, but left the team in Oct.'16. In two games he had 4.5ppg and 4.0rpg this season. The last season King played at Kalev/Cramo in Estonia Alexela KML where in 15 games he recorded 11.7ppg, 9.9rpg, 1.2apg and 1.0bpg. He helped them to win the league title. A very impressive season as he was voted Eurobasket.com All-Estonian League Player of the Year, Import Player of the Year and Center of the Year. King also played 14 games in VTB United League where he averaged 14.0ppg, 12.8rpg, 1.4apg and 1.4bpg.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he was voted Eurobasket.com All-Belarusian League Player of the Year back in 2011.
King also represented Saint Vincent at the CBC Championships in Tortola (British Virgin Islands) last year. His stats at that event were 6 games: 12.5ppg, Reb-1 (14.8rpg), 2.0apg, 1.2spg, Blocks-2 (3.2bpg), FGP-1 (75.0%), FT: 78.9%.
King is quite experienced player. He has played in five different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America). King has played previously professionally in Italy (Virtus Bologna), Slovenia (Hopsi Polzela), Ukraine (BC Odessa) and Belarus (Tsmoki-Minsk).
He attended Oral Roberts University until 2008 and it is his ninth season as a professional player.
