Colombia finished in the 6th place of the 2012 Southamerican U-15 Championship, the National team finished with 2-3 record, defeating Paraguay and Peru and falling against Brazil , Uruguay and Venezuela. Colombia had a good chance to finish among the top 4 teams of the competition , Colombia leaded the game against Brazil most of the time but fall in the overtime. In the fight for the 5th place the Colombians lost agains Venezuela also at the end of the game. According to part of the attendance the National team had a very good technical level and was a strong rival.

The Colombians had many players with achievements in the Championship:
Jainer Atencia Suarez (PG Liga de Santander), 18,00 PPG finished tied in the top of the scorers , was first in steals with 3,4 SPG, and second in assits with 4,00 APG, also was included in the 1st team of the tournament.
Andrs Deluque (F- Liga de Magdalena), 18,00 PPG also finshed tied in the top of the scorers.
Cristian Londono (65 C- Liga del Valle), 13,2 RPG was the top rebounder of the tornament.
Santiago Perez, Daniel Garcia and Cristian Londono was among the top 10 shot blockers
The project is to develop this team for future competitions.

Gregory Echenique was an honorable-mention All-MVC pick as a senior and became the first player in Creighton Universitys history to be named to the MVC's All-Defensive Team three times. He was named the 2011-12 MVC Defensive Player of the Year, and also was a two-time all-MVC Tournament team pick. In his final game, he became the 36th player in Creighton history to surpass 1,000 career points at the school, and if you include his Rutgers numbers he finished his career with 1,364 points, 991 rebounds and 268 blocked shots.
