El Salvador ended Centrobasket in the seventh place in Morovis, Puerto Rico. The team overcame Trinidad and Tobago 58:55 in overtime at the 18th edition of the Centrobasket Tournament. El Salvador won the opening period 12:10, but could not keep the lead in the half. Trinidad and Tobago bounced back with 17-8 in the second frame to take 27:20 halftime advantage. It was again El Salvador that won the third period 23-8 and took 8 points lead entering the fourth period. Trinidad and Tobago meanwhile won the fourth period 16-8 and went to overtime. After three lead changes in the overtime, Caldern make four points for ensuring the El Salvador national team victory. Mirna Simon (168-SF-82) paced all the winners with 18 points and Monica Calderon (175-SF-91) netted 14. Hillary Martinez (172-SF) had 11, while Sosa posted 6. Pietra Gay (183-G-74) replied with 17 points and Shakira Clarke (182-C) added 13.
Samantha Wallace, who was a former top junior national netball player, made an impressive start to her basketball career averaging 16.4points and 13 rebounds per game in nine starts, thus far, at JUCO D1 Level in the U.S.A.

Samantha Wallace, who was a former top junior national netball player, made an impressive start to her basketball career averaging 16.4points and 13 rebounds per game in nine starts, thus far, at JUCO D1 Level in the U.S.A.
In her debut game on Nov 1 against Anoka-Ramsey Community College, Wallace registered 9pts, 10rebs, 3steals and 1 block shot as Arizona Western College won 59-31. She maintained her consistency in successive games and on Nov 20 she tallied a season high 25pts with 10rebs in a 74-50 win over Pima Community College.
Then on Saturday Nov 24, the 6-3 center scored a double-double 16pts & 19 rebs to guide Arizona to a 68-55 home win over the CETYS Lady Zorros.
With the victory over CETYS, Wallace helped Arizona improved their record, 7-2.
Wallace last represented the Deigo Martin All Stars women basketball team in the North Zone Basketball League in Trinidad.

According to the university website, Chenel brings a lot to our staff. She was an excellent Division I player at Kent State and came highly recommended by a pair of outstanding coaches in Bob Lindsay and Lori Bodnar," said head coach Sal Buscaglia. Chenel gained some very good experience working with the Women's Basketball Coaching Association. She comes from a basketball background with her dad working in Canadian basketball for many years. She brings a great deal of enthusiasm and a love of the game.
Harris most recently served as the So You Want To Be A Coach intern with the WBCA where she helped develop the program which is designed to help college women's basketball players get ready for a career in coaching. Not only was she an intern in the program, Harris also completed the program in 2011 before rejoining the WBCA staff as an intern.
As an undergrad, Harris was a four-year letter winner and a three-year starter for the Golden Flashes. A forward, she was named to the All-Mid-American Conference Honorable Mention team as well as the MAC All-Freshman team. She finished second on the team in scoring (10.9 points per game) and rebounding (6.2). Harris eventually joined the 500-career rebound club at Kent State finishing with 573 rebounds and tallying 901 career points. She started 88 of the 120 games in which she played.
Harris graduated from Kent State in 2010 earning a bachelor's degree in business management. A native of Mississauga, Ontario, Harris currently resides in Moon Township, Pa.
Prior to Kent, Chenel had an outstanding high school career in Toronto. She was the MVP all four years at Father Goetz, averaging more than 20 points per game every season. In addition, Chenel copped the Miss Basketball Canada and Defensive Player of the Year her senior year. She also played for the Toronto Triple Threat youth basketball club.
In her only season on the international circuit, Chenel guided the Trinidad and Tobago women national team to a second placed finish at the 2011 CBC Championships in Nassau (Bahamas). During the tournament, she led the team averaging 12.6ppg, 5.0rpg, 1.8apg.
With the accomplishment the national team qualified for the prestigious CENTRO Basketball Championships the following year. Unfortunately, for various reasons, Chenel did not particiapte at the 2012 Championships.
