Maloney Pacers scored a hard fought 109-104 win over Valencia Heat in Game One of their Big Four final of the Eastern Community Basketball League at the Maloney Indoor Facility on Tuesday night.

Led by point guard Keon Joseph with a match-high 40 points, Pacers led 42-38 at the end of the first half. However, despite the efforts of forward Wayne Warlord Richards with 30 points, Heat was unable to slow down Pacers who pulled away in the final period to go one up in the best of three series.

For Pacers, Joseph was ably supported by Captain Gimel Lewis and Nathyon Lewis with 12pts apiece. While for Heat, Jeffrey Saunders added 28pts, Captain Fabrice Fisher had 26 while 16yr old Ivan Williams contributed 18.

The second game is scheduled for Saturday.

In the first game of a double header, Red Hill Jets defeated Mayaro Pacers 74-60 in Game One of their Second Division series. Jets were inspired by Hilwayn Hernandez and Dave Johnson with 14 points each while Luane Lok Tow chipped in with 10.

For Mayaro, Garry Halgly scored a game high 21 points and Ludwell Richardson added 17.
