Former national junior player, 6-9 junior forward Moriba De Freitas, came off the bench to post up 4pts, 10 rebs, 3assists, 2 blocked shots and 2steals as Pepperdine University won its third in a row with a convincing 72-62 victory over visiting UC Irvine on Saturday night. According to head coach Wilson, Moriba was the player of the game, he was a beast on the boards and he got some blocks.

Meanwhile in Philadelphia, 6-8 forward Ronald Roberts added 8pts, 4rebs & 1blk as St Joseph University scored a comfortable 75-56 win over Harvard University on Nov 20 in Philadelphia.

And in the neighboring Tom Gola Arena on Sun 24, 6-2 point guard Sam Mills contributed 5pts, 3rebs and 2steals as La Salle scored a 77-74 overtime victory over Villanova on before a raucous home crowd in the season's Big 5 opener.

In Greensboro, 6-9 forward Kadeem Jack had 8pts as Rutgers University scored a hard-fought 87-80 away victory over North Carolina-Greensboro on Sunday afternoon.

Across in Kanas, 7-1 Rundell Mauge had 4pts, 4rebs & 3blocks as Fort Hays State suffered a close 78-80 loss to Newman University in Wichita on Saturday Nov. 24 in a NCAA D2 contest. With the loss Fort Hays dropped to 2-2 overall.

Over in Albuquerque, 5-9 point guard Jamal Fenton scored 6pts and 3steals as the New Mexico Lobos put away Idaho 73-58 on Friday Nov 23.

T&TU-19 basketballers win Jamaica club title - 17 days ago

Under-19 basketballers Ezeoha Santiago, Mohammed Elias and Jabari Narcis represented T&T well so much so that they picked up the top awards in helping the national youth team cop the title at the Jamaica Hoopfest Club Tournament which took place in Montego Bay, Jamaica, a week ago. Santiago emerged the 'Most Valuable Player', Elias was named the 'Most Defensive Player' and Narcis won the prize for most points in a competition designed for youth club teams from Jamaica and the United State...   [read more]

KTP Basket Kotka (Korisliiga) landed experienced 35-year old Trinidad and Tobago ex-international point guard Ian Young (191-81, college: Auburn, agency: Interperformances). He played in the summer at Caballeros de Culiacan in Mexican CIBACOPA. In 34 games he averaged impressive 16.1ppg, 3.6rpg and 3.1apg. LEB Gold newcomer Saenz Horeca Araberri landed 26-year old Trinidad and Tobago center Kyle Rowley (213-107kg-90, college: St.Mary's, CA). He was about to sign at Saski Baskonia (Liga Endesa). LEB Gold will be definitely a better match and he can see more playing time. The last season Rowley played at Ourense where in 35 LEB Gold games he averaged 6.2ppg, 6.5rpg and 1.2spg.
